RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) – LEX 18 has learned the pedway that goes over Lancaster Avenue in Richmond has partially collapsed.

Lancaster Avenue between Barnes Mill Road and Crabbe Street is closed until further notice, according to the Richmond Police Department.

Authorities originally said there were injuries related to the accident, but they have since stated that there are no injuries.

There were no students on the pedway at the time of the collapse.

Shuttle bus delays are expected.

Police say that a truck had just delivered a trash dumpster close to campus and, for reasons that are still under investigation, the bed of the truck hadn’t been lowered. When the truck hit the pedway, the impact separated the bridge supports which allowed the floor to collapse.
